Welcome to WineSkills II

The first round of WineSkills workshops was conducted late 2003 and into early 2004. That series of workshops focused on business and marketing assistance for owners and managers of wineries who crush less than 1000 tonnes of fruit. The initiative was as a result of the Australian Government, through the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry, and the Winemakers' Federation of Australia recognising that many of Australia's small and medium sized wineries face significant challenges in the current business environment. WineSkills I tackled those challenges and provided the skills and resources for wineries to plan for a more successful future. Around 540 of Australia’s wine industry attended a WineSkills Workshop and the program was hailed as an outstanding success.

WineSkills II will respond to additional needs of the industry that were identified during the first series. This Program will deliver in depth knowledge and practical assistance related to Navigating the Route to Market.
Topics include: Being Market Ready, Your Pricing and Break Even Model, Domestic Distribution Demystified, Energy into Export, Making Direct Mail (and internet) Work, Selling at Cellar Door and The Business of Wine Tourism.

The Winemakers’ Federation of Australia has successfully negotiated with the Australian Government for further financial assistance to deliver a workshop program, which will be conducted in regions around Australia. A charge of $170.00 (plus GST) per person will apply, to cover venue and catering.
